As approximately 35% of a building’s heat loss is through the walls, insulating
your home as much as possible will make it a lot warmer, cosier and it will cost a lot less to
heat it, because the insulation prevents or severely slows down the heat

loss. All homeowners, including private landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before

2011 can apply for a SEAI individual energy upgrade grant,

available as a cavity wall
insulation grant.
